MODULAR TRANSPONDERS & MUXPONDERS

Layer 1 transport for feature-rich and scalable network expansion

DCP series transponders – Feature-rich and scalable network expansion

Everything in our Dynamic Connectivity Platform (DCP) transponder and muxponder portfolio is plug-and-play. Based on open standards, they are designed to work with our open line systems as well as with network elements from other vendors. These open design standads give you great flexibility in building and scaling expanding networks. DCP also allows for a veryconvenient distributed DWDM architecture throughout your network with DCP modules placed where they are needed.

DCP-110

A muxponder for 10G aggregation to 100G

The DCP-110 offers a cost efficient solution for L1 aggregation of 10GbE to 100G. For the line side it is possible to use grey 100G QSFP28 or coherent DWDM 100G QSFP-DD. The client side can use a flexible range of SFP+ client types for 10GbE. When QSFP-DD is used on the line side the DCP-110 will use a coherent DWDM signal that can be directly connected to a DWDM line system.

DCP-1203

3 channel transponder for 100/400ZR+

The DCP-1203 offers a cost-efficient solution for 100G and 400G transport in a small form factor with low power consumption and low latency. It has three individual transponders on the same card. Each transponder can be used in 100G or 400G mode. The client side can use a flexible range of QSFP28 client types for 100G and QSFP-DD for 400G. The line side can use coherent DWDM 100GZR+, 400GZR and 400GZR+ QSFP-DDs.

DCP-108

8 channel transponder for QSFP28 transceivers

In 100G DWDM configurations where it is not feasible to embed the 100G QFSP28 transceivers directly in the switch, or when setting up a demarcation point in an operator’s network, the DCP-108 eight channel open transponder is the ideal solution. Equipped with QSFP28 transceivers, the DCP-108 is the ideal transponder for terminating 100G services in a cost-efficient way at the subscriber premises.

DCP-1610

1G/10G/40G & 8G/16G 10 channel transponder

The DCP-1610 is a high-density multilane transponder. Each DCP-1610 offers ten independent transponders operating from 1G to 16G line rates, enabling 20x DWDM channels per 1U (40x DWDM channel per 2U). 40G interfaces can be transported via 4x10G wavelength groups with support for CWDM or DWDM traffic.

DCP-404

4x 100GE muxponder

In 100G configurations where low-cost multiplexing and bandwidth utilization are important factors, the DCP-404 open muxponder is the ideal solution. Equipped with 400G OpenZR+ DWDM transceivers, the DCP-404 is the ideal product for multiplexing 100G services in a cost-efficient way at the subscriber premises.

DCP-2

The chassis enabling decentralized DWDM networking

At the heart of the platform is the DCP-2. A 1U chassis that houses two DCP modules. It also houses the power and management for these DCP modules. The local DCP element manager completely eliminates the need for a centralized management board making networking more flexible.

Each element manager has all the required control and diagnostics features with a convenient API for north bound interfacing to any standard network management system.

DCP modules can be placed close to the switches and routers whose traffic they need to transport. Low-powered 1U modules instead of complex 5U+ systems. Small form factor with no wasted chassis space. Each module is a fully enclosed EMI protected module that can be safely handled and easily installed.

Solution brief

The guide to simpler, more flexible 100G DWDM connectivity

For most corporate data centers, the key concern is managing connections within the data center itself, since that’s where most of the traffic stays. For this environment, it’s possible to connect 100G traffic together in a relatively simple way, using standard transceiver and cable assemblies, within the equipment rack or spanning opposite sides of the data center floor. This is sufficient for most scenarios, when there is no need to worry about transferring data between data centers or between towns or cities.

400G solution brief

What was once state of the art data rates for optical links in metro networks and between data centers is nowsuperseded by the even higher rate of 400G DWDM.

An accelerating interest in cloud computing, video streaming and data-replication between sites drives the need for more bandwidth in corporate data centers and networks. In a similar way, growing media consumption and consumer demands for a richer internet experience requires increased broadband communications capacity in service provider networks.

As a result, enterprises and service providers around the globe are realizing the need to up their connectivity solutions to 400G. And when taking this step, they are all on the lookout for efficient, yet financially viable, solutions that meet the requirements of both today and tomorrow.

Small, smart and easy

Optical equipment is obviously state-of-the-art technology and most people assume you need a crowd of PhDs just to keep it up and running. But do you? In this video, we test that assumption by letting someone else have a go. Want to try it out yourself?

true open line networking

Powerful and flexible networking

DCP transponders and muxponders can be used in any combination alongside embedded DWDM transceivers for flexible networking. With Smartoptics open line systems, all traffic types can be combined network.

Using our transponders and muxponders with our open line systems allows existing fiber optical networks to be easily upgraded with new services instead of building from scratch. 100G and services can easily be added to existingWDM networks previously optimized for 10G traffic.

Enjoy true flexibility with any combination of transpondersmuxponders and embedded DWDM transceivers with our open line systems.
