Magnus Grenfeldt joins Smartoptics as new CEO
We are happy to announce that Magnus Grenfeldt has joined Smartoptics as CEO of the company. Magnus brings over 20 years of experience from the optical networking industry, most recently from Transmode and Infinera. Joining Smartoptics he will further strengthen the management of the company as an foundation for continued growth into new technology areas and market segments.
- Smartoptics has a great position in the corporate datacenter interconnect market, with endorsements and certifications from the leading brands in the industry. One of the most significant developments in our market is the concept of open line networking becoming more and more acknowledged as a very cost efficient way to build networks. Smartoptics products and embedded WDM philosophy puts us in a really strong position as this market develops, Magnus says.
- With the new DCP platform we will be able to broaden the application scope in this market, offer our customers higher bandwidth and more flexibility and grow into new markets. The first DCP application for cost efficient 100G transport is already available on the market. I’m looking forward to building a footprint in the market and to grow the platform with more applications and products in 2017.
Prior to joining Smartoptics, Magnus has held several executive positions at Transmode and Infinera. He has also held a number of positions within management, sales and business development at ADVA Optical Networking, Sycamore Networks and Ericsson.
