Position summary
Are you ready to dive into the world of technical support? We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Support Engineer to join our team at Smartoptics.
In this role, you will help customers with their technical issues and ensure they have a smooth experience using our products. If you enjoy solving problems, have great communication skills, and a strong technical background, we’d love to hear from you!
As a Support Engineer, you’ll play a key role in providing top-notch support while keeping business needs in mind. You'll handle a wide range of technical issues, from transceivers and traffic interfaces to optical line systems, including transponders and muxponders.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, analyze problems, and find solutions quickly.
- Work closely with different teams to provide complete customer support.
- Be available for on-call support 24/7/365 as per a rotating schedule and during emergencies.
Required skills
- Experience working in technical support, assisting customers via web, phone, and in-person.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and follow up to ensure nothing is overlooked.
- Strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to be on-call as per a set schedule.
- Ability to create documentation, including procedures, service bulletins, and manuals.
Merits:
- Good understanding of DWDM design and optical components such as amplifiers, filters, WSS, and VOA.
- Knowledge of transceivers, including optical and management interfaces.
- Familiarity with Linux and how software interacts with hardware in embedded systems.
