Now, we are looking for a Presales Engineer to support our optical devices business in EMEA. Are you the one we are looking for?
About the Role
As a Presales Engineer you will be the go-to person for all technical solution support required by customers and our sales force. You will be the external link to our customers interfacing internally with our Product Management team, TAC Support team as well as the Production Team.
As a Presales Engineer, you will work with the products in our Optical Devices and Transceiver portfolio that we develop together with leading manufacturing partners in the field. This role also involves participating in setting requirements, specifying, and qualifying products in the lab. The role involves international travelling focusing mostly on EMEA region, additional travel to US and Asia on occasion.
You will work both in the office, out in the field and in a lab environment.
You will manage details on coding for appropriate vendor support and understanding the different challenges with interop and verification of transceivers in network equipment, routers etc.
About You
To take on the role of Presale Engineer, you need to have a few years of experience so you can work independently. As a person, you should have good communication skills, an eye for both detail and the bigger picture, strong self-motivation, and a genuine interest in learning more.
You should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Physics, Optics, or another hardware-oriented engineering field.
You should have experience in the following areas:
- Presales support to internal and external customers
- Optical Transceivers
- Working in a lab environment with instruments
- Optical Device Code development
- Optical Network Understanding
- IP Networking experience
Merits:
- Experience with telecom/networking products
- Experience with optical systems and optical instruments
- Experience of presales or other sales or product supporting function
- IP over DWDM experience
To succeed in this role, you need self-drive and engagement. You should be curious and fearless. Proficiency in English is required, and since we speak Swedish in the office, a willingness to learn Swedish is necessary if you don’t already speak it.
